Travel Arrangements
We are happy to assist with selecting flights to Istanbul. Once tickets are booked:
- Pickup is provided within 48 hours before or the day of tour start
- You may choose to schedule an extra night at our Istanbul hotel at the start or end of your trip
- If arriving early or staying after, please book your own hotel accommodations and notify us of your arrival date and time
IMPORTANT: Airport transfers are included only within 48 hours before and after the tour dates. Arrivals or departures outside this window will require your own arrangements.
Documents & Visa
Passport
- A valid passport is required and must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the departure date
- Photocopy the photo page and keep separately; leave another copy at home
Visa
US, Canadian, British citizens and EU members may obtain a visa upon arrival in Istanbul (~$25 cash; no photo required).
Health & Preparation
- No vaccinations are currently required for travelers departing from the US or Europe
- Consult your physician regarding personal health needs before departure
- Bring all necessary medications and personal medical supplies
- Good physical condition enhances the experience for you and the group

Late payments jeopardize your place on the tour. Service providers in Turkey require dated guest payments to prepare for your arrival.
Tipping is collected at tour start and distributed daily on your behalf to guides, drivers, and restaurant staff. Please do not send to our office in advance.
Each guest must complete their own registration form. Couples may share a room, but registrations are submitted individually.
Trip Insurance (Strongly Recommended)
This journey is a significant financial investment. We strongly recommend:
- “Cancel for Any Reason” coverage — preferred by most guests
- Medical and emergency evacuation coverage
- Baggage protection
IMPORTANT: Insurance must typically be purchased within 14–21 days of your deposit to receive full benefits, including coverage for pre-existing conditions.
This insurance is designed for US citizens departing from the US. Non-US citizens should contact a local travel insurance agent.
Cancellation Policy
No refunds will be issued for any reason. Travel insurance — particularly “Cancel for Any Reason” coverage — is strongly recommended.
In the event of cancellation, please notify our office in writing so we can assist you in filing insurance claims.
Guest payments are non-transferable to other guests at any time.
Cost Adjustment Policy
Tour pricing is set well in advance and is based on current costs at the time of publication. In rare and exceptional circumstances — such as significant changes in currency exchange rates, fuel costs, taxes, or other factors beyond our control — a price adjustment may be necessary. We make every effort to absorb these changes and avoid any increases.
Price adjustments are not grounds for a refund of payments already made. Completion of your registration indicates acceptance of this policy.
For peace of mind: in all our many years of leading tours, we have never had to implement a price increase prior to departure.
Responsibility & Release of Liability
William Henry acts only as agent for independent Travel Suppliers (hotels, airlines, bus companies, sightseeing companies). These suppliers are independent contractors who provide the accommodations, transportation, and services described herein.
By participating in this tour, you agree that neither William Henry nor any of his agents or employees shall be liable for any delay, change in itinerary, loss, damage, or injury to person or property — including that caused by acts of God, terrorist acts, governmental or political actions, civil unrest, fires, theft, pilferage, epidemics, quarantine, medical or customs regulations, accidents, or any failure on the part of any Travel Supplier.
William Henry is not financially responsible for cancellation of all or part of any tour due to acts of war, nature, governmental action, civil unrest, terrorism, default of any Travel Supplier, or any reason beyond his control.
William Henry is not responsible for any physical, mental, emotional, or other reaction, trauma, or ailment during or after the trip that participants may experience at the sites or from any leaders, workshops, or sessions of any kind, including private sessions with presenters. Attendance indicates acceptance of all provisions of this responsibility clause.
The Tour Director reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any person whose health, behavior, or deportment impedes tour operations or the enjoyment and safety of other guests. No refund will be given in such cases. Guest payments are non-transferable.
William Henry has recommended the purchase of appropriate travel insurance. Travel program members are advised that travel insurance covers only what is included as stated in the insurance company's documentation.
